Welcome to Boy Scout Troop 42!
Troop 42 is a participating member of the Chillicothe District of the Tecumseh Council, Boy Scouts of America. The troop's sponsor, or chartered organization, is Hawker United Church of Christ in Beavercreek, Ohio. We are an active, vibrant troop with a busy schedule of outdoor camping activities, special events, and community service projects. We have a long tradition of serving the youth of the Beavercreek area. You are invited to learn more about our exciting journey through Scouting. Philmont Trip June 22nd to July 4th 2008
22 members of Troop 42 and 2 members of Troop 316 went on an awesome trip to Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico from June 22nd to July 4th, 2008.
We flew from Dayton to Denver and then took a tour bus to Philmont. On the way we stopped at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. From there we went to the Koshare Indian Museum and were treated to authentic Indian dancing.
The next day we arrived at Philmont. We had 2 crews, with 9 scouts and 3 adults in each 12 member crew. Each crew had their own itinerary. We hiked for 11 days. When we returned we toured the Waite Phillips Villa. On the way back to Denver we stopped at the Garden of the Gods.
It was the trip of a lifetime, and we all had an amazing time.
