Pinewood Derby

Scout Sunday Feb 28th at Hawker Church! Please put it on your calendar.

The anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America is February 8th. The official scout Sunday is February 7, 2010, and scouts are encouraged to wear their uniform to their church on that day. This year, Hawker Church will observe Scout Sunday February 28, 2010. All boy scouts, cub scouts and leaders are invited and encouraged to attend the 10:30 service at Hawker Church and the reception that follows.

All scouts, boy scouts, cub scouts, and girl scouts are invited to participate in the worship service. Please contact Jeff Leonard at PEJeffrey@aol.com, Home 426-2871, work 656-3590 if you plan to attend and if you would like to participate in the service. We have lots of positions to fill, a flag ceremony, leading the congregation in the pledges to the flags, etc., scripture readers, ushers (take up the collection), greeters, and bugler.

In addition, all of the scout units will be responsible for the reception. We will divide duties for refreshments. In addition, I would like the various units to provide a display of some of the activities that they have done over the last year. Be creative; posters, static displays, projects, revolving slide show, etc.
