What is a Spring Camporee? In one word: “fun”!

This year our Camporee is at John Bryan State Park. This year’s theme is Scout Decathlon. Saturday will be filled with 10 fun events, following the opening flag ceremony:

1. Hammer Throw

2. Shot Put

3. Pancake Relay

4. Stretcher Race

5. 3 Legged Race with sheet bend knot

6. Cow Patty Throw

7. Golf

8. Tire Roll

9. Caber Toss

10. Javelin Throw

We will have a lunch time picnic followed with a service project for the park. We will enjoy a closing campfire and this year’s OA Call out. We will attend the Scouts Own Service.

Troop 42 will camp, cook and compete by patrol. Our campsite will be inspected. One-hundred or more Scouts from throughout our District will participate this year.

Camporee comes early this year: April 17-19. Sign-up will begin our first meeting in April. The fees are: $10 for early bird before April 13 and $13 after April 14.
