Merit Badge Trail Drive
The Opening ceremony is 8:30, and the first class starts at 8:45. It would be a good idea to arrive at around 8:15. The final class is over at 12:15

Troop 42 will be providing concessions for the Merit Badge trail drive this Saturday February 2, as well as Feb 16 and March 1. If you can help any of these weeks please let me know. The troop normally car pools from Hawker Church.
I will NOT be carpooling but will head directly to the Greene County Career Center. We normally need 4-5 volunteers. I will also need 2 coolers for pop. I will bring the ice with the other supplies. Thanks for your help.

Scout Sunday at Hawker Church!
The anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America is February 8th. The anniversary of the Girls Scouts is March 12. Rather than have two Scout Sundays, tradition at Hawker UCC dictates that we have one Sunday to honor our both our boy and girl scouts and alternate the date between a Sunday in February and one in March. This year, Scout Sunday will be observed on Sunday, February 3, 2008 (it’s the Boy Scouts’ year).
All scouts, boy scouts, cub scouts, and girl scouts are invited to participate. That means everybody. If you are a member of BSA Troop 42, Cub Scout Pack 74, Girls Scout Troops 2168 and 1949 who meet at Hawker, whether you are a member of the church or not. AND all members of the church who are scouts, but not are not in those units.
Please contact Jeff Leonard at PEJeffrey@aol.com, Home 426-2871, work 656-3590 if you plan to attend and if you would like to participate in the service. We have lots of positions to fill, a flag ceremony, scripture reader, leading the congregation in the pledges to the flags, etc.
In addition, all of the scout units will be responsible for the reception. We will divide duties for refreshments. In addition, I would like the various units to provide a display of some of the activities that they have done over the last year. Be creative; posters, static displays, projects, revolving slide show, etc.
Thanks for your help, your support and your involvement in Scouting.
