Troop Meeting
Greetings Scoutmasters and parents:
We will have a Scoutmasters meeting Thursday evening July 26 from 7:00 - 8:00 pm at Hawker.
Our agenda will include ideas for the next year's program, mentoring Patrol Leaders.
This is not a PLC and is not a meeting for Scouts.

Troop Meeting
Greetings to all,
We will be holding our first organizational and information meeting for Philmont 2008 on Monday July 30 at 7:00 at Hawker during scout meeting. I know that it is short notice and that with summer schedules people are away, but we need to start planning for our big adventure next year. I would like to have each adult leader and a parent of each participating scout attend if possible. Particularly for those of you who cannot attend, I have attached copies of the meeting agenda, participant list, and Philmont participant advisory. It is important to read the advisory carefully. Mr. Seim will not be attending, so one of the scouts on the alternate list will take his place.
Unless we add extra days we will leave home on June 21 and begin our Philmont adventure on June 22. We will return home on July 4.
I hope to see you on Monday. As always, if you have any questions please let me know.
Mr. Saxe

German Festival Service Fundraiser
*** Uniform is Class B ***
Scouts: Troop 42 has been asked to provide support to the German Picnic Festival. This will be an opportunity for community service as well as a chance for you to earn money towards Philmont, summer camp, or equipment. Please mark the date on your calendar and plan to assist with this worthwhile venture. It is anticipated that we could earn over $2,500 for the weekend. I will be the POC for this project. Mrs. Vincent will be assisting/alternate POC/co-chair/(the one who really does all the work). The SPL will work out a schedule of times and sign-up scouts. Here are the details:
What: Annual German Picnic/Festival
Where: Montgomery County Fairgrounds
1043 South Main Street
Dayton, Ohio 45409
When: Friday, August 10 - Sunday August 12.
Times: Friday 4-10PM, Saturday noon-10PM, Sunday 10AM-6-PM (there is a Mass held as part of the festival)
Duties: Troop 42 will be in charge of parking, taking gate money and directing cars where to park. We will also be responsible for policing the grounds and emptying trash (we will have use of a Gator for the trash).
Why: We will earn a share of the proceeds from the gate.
This should be of special interest to all those scouts planning on attending Philmont next year. This is a chance for you to help earn your way there.
Please call me or email me with questions.
